Both teams in this Div 11 clash needed a win, Chorleywood to aide their push to the title and Potter Bars in their
attempt to gain back to back promotions. Potters Bar won the toss and asked CWCC to bat, with one eye on the rain
The Wood came out all guns blazing and after 10 overs were 68-1, a mini collapse caused some concern with the Bars
quick bowler Fidipe taking 4 quick wickets, but from 74-5, Mike Rose with 51 and 16 year old keeper Freddie Dare
33* batting in the light rain, took the score to 176-6 and The Wood took a risk and declared after 36 overs. To
Potters Bars credit they came out to bat and despite the constant rain continued playing their shots to the end ,
at 60-1 they were looking well placed then a sensational catch by 14 year old Matt Sinderberry turned the game around
, Mike Rose took a return catch in the same over and The Bars two best bats, Lewis and Owers , were back in the
pavilion (drying off no doubt)..Mike Rose then rushed through the opposition taking a career best 9-32 in his last
game of the year, Mike has taken 51 league wickets at 9.3 and scored 350 runs at 58; he is probably the best all-
rounder in the Division. The Wood won by 63 runs and are now 31 points clear with 2 games to go, one win and they
are champions
