This offer is exclusive to the SHCL membership but is for the first 250 ticket sales only and seats for these tickets will be in one block at Wembley.

In order that this offer benefits Saracens as well as the league, we (the league) will have to commit to the purchase of the 250 tickets and then distribute them on a first come first serve basis to the clubs.

If the feedback from you, the clubs, is positive then we the league will make the commitment to purchase and distribute the tickets on behalf of Saracens.

The top five batsmen, as things stand, are:

5. In the clubhouse (as it were) with 554 runs - BEN BROOKS

4. The new kid on the block with 604 runs - can he finish on a high note - ROHAN LEE

3. Just into his twenties after his birthday, but with 656 runs to his name - TOM SMITHSON

2. The club captain, and until recently, leading run-scorer but now in second-place on 788 runs - RICH (or Ritchie if you're Owen) SOULSBY

1. Out in front, the man known in the Watford Observer as "The Run Machine", with 827 runs - SIMON DARE.

On the bowling front there's a two-man smackdown for the title it would appear (although maybe PETER DUNNING, who's currently on 41 wickets, might have something to say about that) - with two superstars riding high with 48 wickets apiece.

In one corner - he's seen off the young upstarts for years, it's MICK "ROSEY" ROSE. In the other corner - one of those self-same young upstarts - JAMIE "J-DOG" SMITHSON.

Who will come out on top? We'll know come sunset on 26th September. But in the meantime, good luck to you all.

Our next project is to improve our cricket square and replace our pavilion that is nearing the end of its life. Our Club is a progressive and vibrant cricket club, but this depends on there being enough members supporting all that needs to be done to make it so. He was last at the Club on Past Members Day the Sunday before last. Peter and Jean have been associated with the Club since the 1970s when their son Mark played as a wicketkeeper in the Colts. Now their grandson Luis joined the Colts this summer. Our sincere condolences to Jean and the family.

To emphasise this - all captains have been asked to prioritise the selection of players who have done the decent thing and paid their subs over those that have yet to do so. So - if you haven't paid yet, please do so as soon as possible - you owe what you owe!!!

Event 1.Happily all our teams are playing locally ...the 1s and 4s at home , the 2s travelling to Ricky and the 3s have the longest journey playing West Herts .

Event 2. This week Rich S and Harriet have their birthdays and have decided as part of their week of celebrations to ask all club membersto join them at the club on Saturday evening ( Harriett has also invited some of her Uni girl friends down for the weekend !!!!!!!)

So ( you will not be surprised to know ) we have decided to fire up the BBQ ! and to add some colour / style to the evening Nikki is going to decorated the club house and we have also decided to give the day a theme , the tried and tested "Loud shirt / Beach wear " theme........so lets dust off our Hawaiian shirts etc and party .

The Strollers game itself will be a 20-20 affair and we will then be showing the football in the Pavilion. Mike Norris from The Red Lion will be suuplying some food (inc a BBQ) following the final whistle to help everybody celebrate England's glorious victory.

So, if you can, do come along to The Common on Sunday for what will hopefully be a great afternoon for everybody (except the Germans).

Please update your availability for at least the first few weeks and block out any dates you know you are not available for, eg holidays.

If you do not have a username/password for the website then email me at register@cwcricket.org and I will set you up.

Once you have a login, click 'Account' at the top of the page, then click 'My Availability'. You will get a list of all the fixtures for the season. Using the check boxes, select one or more dates, and then click one of the three buttons at the top to change your availability for the selected dates. You can specify Available, Not Available or Maybe.

It will really help out the Captains this season if you can use this online availability system and keep it up to date.
